Bonaventure Cemetery slide show (31)
Bonaventure Cemetery was developed on the historically-significant site of Bonaventure Plantation. The peaceful setting rests on a scenic bluff of the Wilmington River, east of Savannah. The site was purchased for a private cemetery in 1846 and became a public cemetery in 1907. Citizens and others can still purchase interment rights in Bonaventure. This charming site has been a world famous tourist destination for more than 150 years due to the old tree-lined roadways, the many notable persons interred, the unique cemetery sculpture and architecture, and the folklore associated with the site and the people. The entrance to the cemetery is located at 330 Bonaventure Road and is the largest of the municipal cemeteries containing nearly 100 acres. The cemetery is open to the public daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. . The main office of the Department of Cemeteries is located in the Bonaventure Administrative Building at the entrance.
Bugs slide show (23) It doesn't matter, I like taking pictures of bugs. As long as they don't get in my face. I have a series of a dragonfly devouring another insect. I was using a 35mm macro and I was close. But it was not going to give up it's dinner for me. The reality was very strange indeed. For some odd reason I had never thought of a dragonfly that way, A whole new world when it comes to macro photography.

Laurel Grove Cemetery slide show (23) Laurel Grove Cemetery is located on the west side of Savannah on a portion of the former Springfield Plantation. Named after the native laurel oak trees which once inhabited the site, the cemetery was developed in 1850 as the Old Cemetery (Colonial Park Cemetery), the Old Jewish Cemetery, Potter’s Field, and the Old Negro Cemetery approached capacity. The cemetery was developed as a segregated cemetery and today is managed as two cemeteries: Laurel Grove North (white section) and Laurel Grove South (black section). The Jewish Section is a part of Laurel Grove North and there are multiple Stranger’s Grounds in both Laurel Grove North and Laurel Grove South.

Sturgis, Mississippi, 2008 slide show (49) This strong and solid community today consists of approximately 280 people and many businesses, churches, organizations and Diane Jackson City Park. Located about 12 miles southwest of Starkville on Highway 12, Sturgis has opened its doors to bikers from around the country for the last seven years or so. The Mayor, Walt Turner, and the Board of Alderman are very supportive and extend a warm welcome to all riders. With Southern hospitality, the citizens, merchants and organizations also enjoy showing the bikers their town and their way of life almost as much as the bikers enjoy the welcome and warmth they receive from the minute they arrive to the minute they depart. Together, they have made for a combination that is unbeatable causing riders to come away from Sturgis with a fond appreciation for this small community... and a very strong desire to return.
Thunder Valley, Lakewood Colorado slide show (74) I spent several hours of three days photographing the dirt bike daredevils at Thunder Valley, Lakewood, Colorado. These motocross riders got better and wilder with their stunt riding and high flying antics as the days wore on. They are true competitors who live for motorcycles and excitement that comes with them.
